PERSONALITY: Bruce is strict, and leads like a general. When he gives orders, he expects them to be followed without question. He has an understanding side, however, and often advises others and helps them make their own decisions. He is blunt with his honesty and doesn’t cut corners. He takes his beliefs very seriously when it comes to morals and justice. He has a stoic, business-like personality, but occasionally is capable of having a sense of humor.
POWERS: Bruce Wayne has no super powers. Instead, he has an arsenal of weapons (batarangs, gas capsules, etc.) and is a master of many fighting techniques. He has trained himself to be at the very peak of human capability. He is also known as the World’s Greatest Detective.
HISTORY: When Bruce Wayne was only eight years old, he watched his parents get gunned down in front of him. That moment has haunted him ever since and has become the driving force for his war on crime. He traveled the world, becoming a master at nearly every fighting technique known to man. He also learned how to use a various amount of weaponry and enhanced his already blossoming detective abilities.
He returned to Gotham after his world travels, deciding to use his new skills to fight crime. He wanted to make sure no child would have to go through what he went through. He tried fighting crime with just a simple outfit and simple gear, but found that criminals didn’t take him seriously. Eventually, he realized he had to install fear into the cold hearts of criminals. He modeled his new costume and name after what he as a child had feared most- bats.
About four years ago, he took in a young ward, Dick Grayson, after the young acrobat watched his parents fall to their death. This marked a new time in Bruce’s life, where he now has the responsibility of training and protecting his young protégé.
ROLE-PLAYING SAMPLE:
Things changed every day.
“Hurry up!” one of the thugs yelled quietly to his colleagues as they unloaded the shipment.
“What’s the rush, yo?” one asked. He was young, new to Gotham and completely unaware of what lurked in the shadows.
The large cargo was lowered onto the ground. Batman had seen enough. It was time to make his move. He leaped down from the roof of the warehouse, his cape spreading out behind him. He landed on top of the cargo in a crouch, before straightening himself out. His eyes narrowed and he fixed a glare onto the crooks. Two of them took off in a run. He quickly slipped two batarangs out of his utility belt and tossed them. They flew in the air, knocking both thugs in the back of the head and sending them sprawling to the floor unconscious. He turned his gaze to the three thugs that were left. Three. This was going to be too easy.
He jumped down from atop the cargo, landing directly in front of one of the men. He sent a clean strike to the man’s shoulder, temporarily cutting off feeling in the man’s right arm. He then kneed him in the gut and swept his legs out from under him. One down, two to go.
One man started to make a run for it. Batman quickly threw bolas. They wrapped around the legs of the crook, sending him to the ground face first.
He could already hear the sirens approaching.
He turned his attention to the last crook, the newbie. The guy seemed frozen in fear. Batman ran up to him, his fist making contact with the thug’s gut before the man had time to react.
“Welcome to Gotham.” Batman grabbed the thug’s head and collided it with his own, efficiently knocking the man out. He turned to see the approaching lights of the police. He then walked over to the large cargo. He took out a handheld laser and cut through the lock. He then opened it and looked upon the terrified faces, ranging from thirteen to early twenties.
“You’re safe now, ladies.”
Some things would never change.
