Cassandra prowled silently through the shadows of the small Oceanside town of Happy Harbor. It was a small place, and was known to be near the former headquarters of The JLA, Mount Justice. Mount Justice was discovered by the counter-forces to the heroes years before. So thanks to that the place was supposed to remain unused, but there was an unusual amount of metahuman activity recently.
Cain had taken it upon herself to investigate the nature of all this, realizing that this could potentially be a way to deal a serious blow to the league for her master. After all, they were the most detrimental of all things to Ra's Al-Ghul.
So it was only natural that the assassin do some reconnaissance. Size up the competition and see why they had managed to take so much of her Master's time. Hopefully, if she could find a way to end whatever was going on she could return to full-time protection of Ra's.

Zatanna was in the computer room. She was trying to look at all different kind of videos that had to do with Fate. Still trying to figure out how to free her father from the helmet, till one video showed the town and a female walking around. Zatanna got the screen bigger to see some one walking around looking. Zatanna tilt her head never seeing this girl before. Being in her mission uniform she had changed to her school uniform not wanting to alert this girl or make her scared.
With a smile she used her magic skills and got her to the beach. From there she walked to the town. With a smile she had seen the girl. Making sure she had actually didn’t look as if she was spying on her. Zatanna had decided to act like she was taking a short cut home and had ran into the girl. Looking up at her Zatanna had wide eyes.
“Oh my goodness I’m so sorry. I taking a short cut running late and I’m so sorry for bumping into you.” Zatanna looked at her face and realized she had not seen her before. “Are you new here? I have lived around happy Harbor well travel here as much as I can. You are not around here.” Zatanna looked at her with a small smile.

Cassandra was startled by the girl to say the least. Assuming an aggressive stance towards the other young woman, Cain put up her fists as if ready to attack, but quickly corrected this and pretended to appear shocked rather than angry.
Unfortunately, the other girl began talking, something that the assassin was not prepared to have to attempt to do. Immediately studying the girl's body language she was able to come to the conclusion that the bump was not unintentional, and in fact she seemed to be attempting to study Cain. Glaring at the girl, Cassandra tried to fake sign language in a manner that would convey that she was in a hurry. Hopefully the odd girl would then leave it be.

Zatanna threw her hands up fast when she saw her fists go up. Zatanna couldn’t fight well and magic was only an option if it was needed. Zatanna’s heart began to beat fast. Seeing that she put down her hands Zatanna calmed down a little.
Seeing her sign language Zatanna tried to read it. Though it was hard for her to pick it up since she really didn’t know it and her hand was going fast. “Wow slow down I’m not sure if you need help or what. I can take you into town or something. We should be able to get someone who can understand you.” Zatanna said she said it slow enough so she could read her lips thinking she couldn’t hear.

Fortunately the gambit proved effective, as the girl in front of Cassandra seemed unable to understand the nonsense motions which the teenager was making. However, the assassin was not expecting Zatanna to want to pursue conversation, and seemed intent on finding someone who could actually speak in sign language so that they could.
This could end badly if the girl found out that Cain was unable to converse with other people at all. That was something that others usually found suspicious, when someone learned to understand people through body language rather than the words they said.
When Zatanna seemed to be intentionally slowing her words, Cass promptly shook her head and pointed towards her own throat, almost as if to inform that the Asian girl was mute. That was more or less the case, after all there was not really a name for the situation in which the body guard was in.
In order to attempt to keep moving, Cassandra walked past the other individual. This was also her attempt at avoiding further inquiry from Zatanna before she ended up getting caught in her act.

Zatanna wished she had her school bag. For she could give the girl pencil and pen then she would be able to communicate with one another. Zatanna wasn’t sure what to do at this point. She didn’t want the girl to leave just yet.
As she was about to speak the girl began to walk away. Zatanna was confused as she turned to watch her leave. Trying to think fast Zatanna snapped her fingers. Turning around she said a spell backwards so she knew sign language. Running up to the girl Zatanna smiled and started to sign. Telling her she had learned it long ago but had to remember how to do this.

And now there was a problem. Cassandra had heard the girl mutter something, and now she was standing before Cain making repeated movements with her hands. Great, if you used common sense it became highly apparent that the girl actually could use sign language. Which meant that she knew Cassandra wasn't in fact signing before. The final conclusion being that her cover had been blown completely.
Without even taking a moment to put up a fighting stance, Cain launched a fist full force to Zatanna's face. Based on the girl's body language she wasn't ready to be attacked, so, the assassin figured now should be the perfect moment.

Zatanna was in shock when her body it the ground from the punch. Looking at her she stood up and rubbed her cheek. “What the hell.” Zatanna yelled. Glaring at her Zatanna had took a few steps back and looked at her. She took a deep breath not sure if she should attack her or just let her go.
“Okay what is your problem? I did nothing to you and you attack me.” Zatanna’s fits curled but soon let it go. She couldn’t throw a punch and wasn’t sure if she should use her magic. Not wanting this girl know she was part of the team.

It was somewhat surprising to Cassandra that this girl could withstand her assault. Even more so that she managed to get right back up right after receiving a punch directly to the face from the martial artist. This informed her that this individual was accustomed to withstanding force, particularly powerful ones like those dealt by herself.
Hardly wasting a moment, Cass lead in with a second attack, a kick aimed directly to Zatanna's face. The intent behind this one was to break the girl's nose and blind her so that she may attempt to make an escape. If she were to miss, however, Cassandra would do her best to attempt an escape.

Zatanna saw the kick and was able to move a bit so she only hit the side of her face. This had caused her to go down to the ground again hitting her head on the floor. Getting up she looked at her. Rubbing her head she looked at Cassandra. Behing the hit went to her head it got her eye site a little blurry. This was a sad thing for her. She new she would have to make sure to practice for sure hand to hand combat.
“Okay that hurt the second time.” Rubbing her eyes she looked at her. “dnib reh teef (Bind her feet).” Looking at her she held on had to her head and gave her a glare. “Okay you really shouldn’t try to hurt someone its not nice.”

As Cassandra's second blow landed, she quickly began making her way down the alleyway. The girl had nearly escaped the location when suddenly her feet grew stuck to each-other as if they were tied by invisible rope. Landing onto the ground face-first, Cass looked up to Zatanna with a vicious glare. The face had some scraping and a minor puncture in her lip that caused a small stream of blood to trickle down. Unable to say anything to the girl, Cain simply maintained the look until she did something.

Zatanna walked to her and saw what happened. “Oh..i’m sorry about that.” Zatanna said some magic words so that her feet were untied and had her face healed up as well. Getting close to her she pulled her up. “I’m sorry didn’t know you were going to fall on your face.” Once she helped her up Zatanna looked at her with a small smile. “So please tell me why did you beat me up.”

Cassandra had finally figured out what was going on. This girl was a magic-user, most likely the daughter of Zatara. Meaning that this person was a high-danger enemy who would have to be dealt with quickly. After accepting the help up, Cass tackled Zatanna to the ground and used an arm-bar. However, as a change from the typical version of the technique, she thrust her calf over Zatanna's mouth to prevent incantation.

Zatanna felt herself go onto the ground. Feeling her calf over her mouth caused her to gasp. Looking at her with wide eyed Zatanna had been trying to move to get out of the girls grip. She tried to pock her kick her. Zatanna looked at her in the eyes and started to glare at her. Zatanna began to think on ways on how to escape from this girl. She tried hard to kick her off of her.

Cain began pulling more forcefully as she had the arm bar completed. Of course, she didn't expect the girl to be trained in any degree of martial combat, or such a capable gymnast that she would be able to kick that high. However when she did, Cassandra's grip loosened slightly, allowing for the spellcaster to escape the grip.
The assassin had been careless when approaching the battle, and might end up losing to this child of a girl because of it.
